Guardians of the forest
The eighth edition of the Besenello Sculpture Symposium features the forest and its creatures, which have always shaped human myths, legends, and dreams.
Throughout the week, the streets of the historic centre of Besenello will host artistic performances and wood crafting, in a dialogue involving more than ten sculptors supported by volunteers from Libero Pensiero. The sculptors will shape the wood day by day, encouraging the community to get outdoors and spend time together, evoking the original meaning of the term 'symposium': a moment of local conviviality, entertainment, and dialogue.
The theme chosen for this edition, 'Guardians of the Forest', celebrates the deep and ancestral bond between humans and the forest, reminding everyone of the importance of respecting and understanding this vital ecosystem, rich in magic and wisdom.
The winning work will be decided by the public, who will be invited to vote on the final day. There will also be numerous side events, concerts, and activities.
