Throughout his 60-year career, John Mayall was considered the father of British Blues, a musical movement that swept the British scene in the 1960s. Many rock stars achieved fame through this great English musician, including Eric Clapton, Mick Taylor, John McVie, and Peter Green.
The Sudwerk festival has programmed an evening of blues to honour this charismatic figure who made history. Gianni Ghirardini, Hubert Dorigatti, and several other artists have come together for a blues session featuring singer and harmonica player Fabrizio Poggi. Poggi was nominated for a prestigious Grammy Award, finishing second behind the Rolling Stones.
