Songwriting evening with Max Manfredi and Ilaria Argiolas.
Max Manfredi, a singer-songwriter from Genoa, is widely considered one of the finest in Italy. Over the course of his career, he has received numerous accolades, including two Targa Tenco awards in 1990 and 2009.
In 1994, he performed the song 'La fiera della Maddalena' as a duet with Fabrizio De André, who described him as 'the most talented of all Italian singer-songwriters'. At the Sudwerk, he will perform as a duo with Alice Nappi on the violin, joined by guest Andrea Maffei.
Ilaria Argiolas is a singer-songwriter of Sardinian origin who grew up in Rome, where she studied guitar at the conservatoire.
Her style is described as rock-edged, eclectic, and raw, with an ironic and provocative streak. Many of her songs are in the Roman dialect, which she considers the most direct way to express herself. Her straightforward expressiveness and use of popular dialect have drawn comparisons to the great Gabriella Ferri.
