This unique experience is made possible thanks to the South Tyrol Biwak Camp on the Stöfflhütte mountain hut. The hike from the Gasserhütte refuge on the Villanderer Alm mountain pasture starts with a short lecture on material science and safety in the mountains, served with a snack. By 3 p.m. it’s time to go and see the sun setting over the Kassianspitze peak and by evening, there’s dinner at the Stöfflhütte hut. We stay overnight in a tent or at the bed camp in the refuge. Next morning after breakfast, we hike back to the Gasserhütte.
