From Kreuzjoch, the trail leads to Medalgesalm and continues on to Sobutsch. Along the way, the landscape reveals its typical contrasts: gentle alpine meadows towards Kampill and striking Dolomite rock formations rising sharply into the sky. Hikers are also rewarded with a rich variety of alpine flora along the route.
Start: 9.30 am at the Zans parking area (1,680 m)
Ascent via Tschantschenon to Kreuzjoch (2,293 m), then on to Sobutsch (2,486 m).
Descent via the Schlüterhütte (2,297 m) and back to the starting point in Zans. End: around 5.00 pm.
Hiking data: distance 10.6 km, elevation gain/loss 811 m, pure walking time 4.25 h.
Please wear suitable mountain equipment.
