On Monday, March 2, another trio will be featured at the Bolzano Concert Society: the piano superstar Federico Colli joins two young musicians already known to our Bozen audience: Giulia Rimonda on violin and Ettore Pagano on cello.
Federico Colli, described by Gramophone magazine as “one of the most original thinkers of his generation,” won the International Piano Competition in Leeds in 2012. International Piano selected him as one of the “30 Pianists Under 30.” In 2022, he was also included by Fortune Italia in the “40 under 40” list as one of the most influential people in the arts and culture sector.
Giulia Rimonda has won numerous awards, served as Artist in Residence at the Società dei Concerti di Milano, and received the Giovanna Maniezzo Prize from the Accademia Chigiana. She is also the 2022 winner of the Roscini-Padalino Prize from the Fondazione Perugia Musica Classica and has been a scholarship recipient at the Settimane del Teatro Olimpico in Vicenza, the Accademia Chigiana, CIDIM for the Talenti Musicali Italiani nel Mondo project, and the Associazione De Sono in Turin. Since June 2024, she has been a scholarship holder at the Villa Musica Foundation.
Ettore Pagano has won first prizes in over 40 national and international competitions since 2013. His most recent international awards include first prize at the prestigious Khachaturian Cello Competition in June 2022, and in 2025 the “Una vita nella Musica – Giovani” (A Life in Music – Young Talents) award from Teatro La Fenice in Venice (with “A Life in Music” awarded to Rudolf Buchbinder), as well as invitations to the concert series “Stars & Rising Stars” in Munich and “Stars of Tomorrow” at the Brucknerhaus in Linz.
The trio will perform Beethoven’s Piano Trio in D major, Op. 70 No. 1 (“Ghost Trio”) and Dmitri Shostakovich’s Piano Trio in E minor, Op. 67 for violin, cello, and piano.
