Guitars from the South – Brazil and Argentina

Yamandu Costa and Facundo Rodríguez will open the summer edition of the Paesaggi Sonori – Musiche dal Mondo festival in Valle dei Laghi.

This international event brings one of the greatest virtuosos of the contemporary guitar to Vezzano: Yamandu Costa. An extraordinary performer of the seven-string Brazilian guitar and a Latin Grammy Award winner, he is known for his prodigious technique, improvisation, and expressive depth. Alongside him is the Argentine guitarist and composer Facundo Rodríguez (Moschen). A descendant of a Trentino family that emigrated to the Argentine Chaco at the end of the 19th century, he is a refined interpreter of the musical traditions of the Litoral and a leading figure in a new generation of musicians revitalising the language of the South American guitar.

The performance is an encounter between two great musicians and two musical traditions conversing through the guitar, spanning choro, tango, milonga, and the sounds of South America.

The concert holds special significance as it marks the 150th anniversary of the start of the great Italian migration to Argentina. It is organised in close collaboration with the Associazione Trentini nel Mondo.

This is an unmissable event for fans of the guitar and Latin American music, and for all lovers of high-quality live music.
