When we talk about an "alphorn" today, we mean a long, straight wooden horn bent at the bottom.
For centuries, horn instruments of different materials and shapes have been made and played on all continents.
As early as the 16th century, the alphorn served not only as a call and signal horn, but also as a toy for shepherds and has become firmly established in the Alpine region in recent decades, with its own style of playing and dialect
