Every year in May, professional athletes and families alike head to Angerberg by the Hohe Salve. The two-day 'eldoRADo Bike & Run Festival' at the Hohe Salve features four mountain bike and running competitions, along with an entertainment programme including tasty local treats and live music.
In the MTB marathon, cyclists can choose between three different routes ranging from 35 to 88 kilometres. They tackle up to 2,325 metres of elevation gain on the longest marathon. Gravel bikers compete in a 40-kilometre race, while young mountain bikers take to the pedals on a cross-country course across gravel, meadow, and asphalt. Anyone wanting to support a good cause can take part in the charity run, with proceeds benefiting the Angerberg social fund, while children join the kids' run.
