The magic of the Gran Fondo Dobbiaco - Cortina, taking place for the 49th time on the weekend of 17 and 18 January 2026, remains unbroken.
The Gran Fondo Dobbiaco - Cortina is one of the most traditional and popular cross-country skiing races, with enchanting routes that immerse cross-country skiing enthusiasts in the magnificent surroundings of the UNESCO World Heritage Dolomites of the Upper Val Pusteria and the Ampezzo peaks. The dates for the 2026 edition have been confirmed for the aforementioned weekend, with the event retaining its popular format. For both routes, the start is at the military airfield in Dobbiaco (Toblach).
The 42 km classic technique route leads after a short section towards San Candido (Innichen) to Dobbiaco, passes through the town and then continues to Lago di Dobbiaco, the War Cemetery, Lago di Landro, the Tre Cime di Lavaredo Viewpoint, Val Fonda, Schluderbach, and Cimabanche Pass. After reaching the highest point at over 1,500 m altitude, the route turns back to Dobbiaco to finish in the Nordic Arena cross-country stadium.
The 35 km free technique race largely follows the classic race route, with a slightly shortened section after the start and at Schluderbach, leading directly to Dobbiaco.
