Guided hike "Morter-Broatraschgl"

From Morter, at the entrance to the Martelltal, we follow the path slightly uphill to the Wetterkreuz with a rest area, and from there continue for about 30 minutes to the viewpoint "Broatraschgl". The name comes from older generations, as this is where people traditionally took their "bread break". From here, there is a beautiful view of Burg Obermontani, the lower Vinschgau, and as far as the Sarntaler Alps. After a break, we hike down in switchbacks towards the Rautwaal valley to the bridge over the Plima stream. We cross the road, reach the Barbara Memorial Chapel, and follow the Neuwaal (abandoned) to Burg Obermontani.
We arrive at the Burgkapelle St. Stephan and continue to the Untermontani ruins and return across the orchards to the starting point.
Altitude gain: approx. 400 m
Hiking time: 3 hours
Difficulty: moderately difficult
