Extremely challenging, the handbike race along the scenic Kaunertal Glacier Road is hard, fast and tactical handcycle racing at its very best.
The term “battle” clearly confers an aspect of challenge upon the event; and yes, this ride is anything but easy: This is hard, fast and tactical handcycle racing at its very best. If you’re after lung-burning uphill climbs, the Handbike Battle along scenic Kaunertal Glacier Road is the place for you. The 20-kilometer long, scenic Glacier Drive has some steep pitches and a total rise of more than 867 vertical meters and will definitely test your strength. Previous year’s winner managed the course in record-breaking 72 minutes—this time can be beaten on June 27, 2024. The battle begins at the toll booth, situated at an elevation of 1,287 meters.
