The pilgrimage church of Madonna di Senales in Senales sits powerfully and majestically on a rock. The church is the starting point for our approx. 2 hour hike. The trail takes us along the Via Monachorum, past the Senales ancient larch trees, the waterfall, and fresh mountain springs to the former Carthusian monastery of Allerengelberg in Maso Corto. And then? Silence! Discover how soothing silence can be. Bird call, water babbling, the soft swaying of the trees in the wind and somewhere - far away, audible only as a whisper - noises from today’s world.
Concludes with a tour through the “Village of Silence” and the former monastery of the Carthusian monks, who served God there for centuries in silence and solitude.
