This August, Zillertal Valley plays host to the inaugural Hochfügen High Trails Festival. Trail runners can choose between a short and easy team event and a long endurance adventure.
The BusinessTrailRun, a team trail-running event, is set for August 10, 2024. The 5-kilometer long course has an elevation gain of 221 meters and is easy manageable. Participants compete in 3-man team and will be sent out on a marked course along the Alpine Pasture Hut Loop in Hochfügen. En route, they will find an aid station. The team event is rounded out with a social gathering at the after race party.
One day later, August 11, 2024, sees the first edition of the HighTrailRun, an epic mountain endurance adventure for recreational and professional runners. Participants have to master a technical 17.7-kilometer course where Mother Nature provides over 1,250 meters of ascent. The route follows the Gilfert Loop and the 2,506-meter peak of the same name is the highest elevation of the course. Running through breathtaking mountain scenery, the HighTrailRun provides two aid stations.
