3...2...1 – "Happy New Year!" Innsbruck kicks off the new year 2026 with its unique Mountain New Year's Eve celebration. Exactly at midnight, the traditional Blue Danube Waltz will play, and a colourful fireworks display will be set off high above on the Seegrube.
However, New Year's Eve celebrations begin earlier, at 5 p.m., with the Innsbruck New Year's Eve Run, marking the sporting conclusion of the year. Also starting at 5 p.m., a 3D facade mapping invites visitors to a tour of the city. These are artistic light projections onto several historic buildings. Then at 9 p.m., the main event begins with a party on Landestheater Square.
And of course, there's also a New Year's Eve celebration for children. The little ones can welcome the new year on 30 December. From 1 p.m. onwards, numerous play and craft stations and much more will be available throughout the Old Town.
