For over two decades, the village centre of Kössen has hosted the annual Kaiserwinkl Cheese Festival. Visitors can sample and buy various delicacies, and there is also plenty for children to enjoy.
The focus at this village and farmers' festival is on all things handmade – from the culinary specialities, which naturally centre on the region's diverse cheeses, to the acoustic music provided by various groups. Stalls feature a selection of cheese specialities and other treats, alongside schnapps and wine tastings. Visitors can learn about the craft of cheese-making, while the children's programme ensures the youngest guests are well entertained.
