Kitzbühel Cycling Marathon

Kitzbühel Cycling Marathon

This event already took place. (7/09/2025)

Not for the faint-hearted: participants must conquer 4,600 metres of ascent to reach the finish line at Kitzbüheler Horn.

The Kitzbühel Cycle Marathon takes over the showdown on Kitzbüheler Horn from the Tour of Austria. Here too, the classic route finishes on the mountain, which is considered Austria's steepest cycling climb with a maximum gradient of 23 per cent. Anyone who manages to reach it on their racing bike will have already conquered Pass Thurn, Gerlos Pass, Kerschbaumer Sattel, Alpbachtal, and Brandenberg. All in all, that's 216 kilometres and 4,600 metres of ascent – a route that can certainly be called an extreme marathon.

To spare themselves the final 800 metres of ascent, there is a less demanding route – the KRM Kitz, which finishes in Kitzbühel's Vorderstadt. From 2025, participants may decide en route which finish line they wish to head for: the classic Horn route or the shorter KRM Kitz.
