"Klezmer & Yodel" concert with the Ziganoff Jazzmer Band and Heidi Clementi on the occasion of the 2026 Winter Games.
This original project is a unique blend of the klezmer-jazz of the Ziganoff band and the yodelling of South Tyrolean virtuoso Heidi Clementi. The performance features both traditional Alpine styles and updated versions with specific jazz arrangements.
The crossover also leads to the rediscovery of the rich heritage of songs in Yiddish—the language of Ashkenazi Jews that combines elements of German, Hebrew, and Aramaic. Surprisingly, Yiddish also shares unexpected similarities with the South Tyrolean dialect.
It is a stimulating musical journey through time and history, offering a reflection on the variety and complexity of our roots.
