What makes this event unique is the synergy between the festival and the academy: a high-level blend of concert performance and education, born from the collaboration between the Municipality and the Muspilli association, which has coordinated the entire event since 2022.
Under the direction of Franco D'Andrea and Ewald Kontschieder, the academy welcomes professionals, beginners, and young talents (Teens' Corner), fostering an intercultural exchange with instructors from all over the world. The festival, curated by Vincenzo Costa, boasts over 80 concerts featuring world-class artists, enriched by events and jam sessions between masters and students. Within this bilingual setting, MeranOjazz is not just a musical review, but a living laboratory exploring jazz and its global influences.
