Opening Biennale - Paradise Gardens

The opening on Saturday, May 30 begins at 10 a.m. in front of Sala Trenker in Ortisei with a welcome and institutional presentation, followed by a curator-led tour. At 1 p.m., Piazza S. Antonio hosts a culinary intervention by the artists Sandra Knecht and Leonardo Bürgi Tenorio. In the afternoon, the programme continues in S. Cristina at 3 p.m. with a guided tour, accompanied by a performance by Ana Prvački, Applied Honey Proverbs. A folkloric dip into proverbs from around the world, where ecology meets language and wisdom accumulates in drip. The day proceeds with a tour to Pilat from 6–7.30 pm. and concludes with a 10th anniversary celebration at Maso Pilat from 7.30–9.30 pm. with music.

(either independent or with public transportation – bus nr 350 or 360 leaving S. Antonio Square at 14.27 & 14.57)

Applied Honey Proverbs
A folkloric dip into proverbs from around the world. Where ecology meets language, and wisdom accumulates in drip.
A live performance by the Biennale artist Ana Prvački.

Hiking to Pilat

18.00 – 19.30 | Where: Meeting point in front of Cable Car Alpe di Siusi (in Ortisei)
Pilat is a wild mountain location only reachable on foot. No private car can drive up to the location. At 18.00 we will start a Curator’s tour of the artworks up the mountain to Pilat (different groups in English, German and Italian). 45 minutes uphill hike by foot on trail nr. 15. Please wear comfortable mountain shoes.

A shuttle transfer is possible for those who are not able to hike uphill – only working between 18.00 and 18.30. As places are limited , please register here to book the shuttle transfer: Book your transfer

19.30 – 21.30 | Where: Pilat

21.30 – 22.30 | Where: Pilat
Shuttle transfer to return to Ortisei – Cable Car Alpe di Siusi. All visitors are kindly required to take advantage of the shuttle to return to town – the mountain trail is not illuminated.
