The project “Tu chiamale se vuoi emozioni” continues with two special evenings dedicated to performance. Two events where we can be guided to discover this aspect of art. The artist Giovanni Morbin inspires reflection on the theme: “Subtraction of elements as a contemporary form of abstraction.”
We can all experience this phase in everyday life, where communication overwhelms individuals with an excess of data; but, forced into this condition, the artist can be prompted to make a backward journey, trying to remove as many traces of their passage as possible. This opens the way to an adventure that, in more heroic times, we might have called abstraction.
What does it mean to abstract oneself? The effort lies in reducing the constructive grammar of reality—not to produce essential images, but to offer simple “protagonist” reading spaces rather than spectator ones.
Giovanni Morbin
Since 1978, his research has been linked to behaviors. His performances are called Hybridizations. In recent years, he has conducted research on the nature of form and image, materialized through the atomization of everyday objects as an ideal artistic reordering of the world.
