Sacred Heart Fires in Kartitsch

The tradition of lighting Sacred Heart Fires is cherished a lot in East Tirol’s Hochpustertal and Lesachtal Valleys. As darkness begins to fall around 9:00pm, torches are lit up on Öfenspitze Mountain and Kinigat Peak in Hollbrucker Tal and windows at homes in the village are lit with pretty decorations.
