Gustav Mahler's First Symphony was composed in Leipzig in 1888 and underwent several revisions following its 1889 premiere in Budapest, before being performed in its current version in Berlin in 1896. This multimedia lecture traces its journey from its controversial beginnings to its recognition as a masterpiece.

As a musicologist, she collaborated with Henry-Louis de La Grange, has published research on Mahler, and gives regular lectures.
