ROUTE OF THE STAGE
The route features an initial climb towards Palù di Giovo after five kilometers from the start – an intermediate sprint that immediately brings riders into the thick of competition. This is followed by a climb along the Wine Road up to Caldaro through picturesque vineyard landscapes. The next battleground is the ascent to the village of San Nicolò, known as the "Caldaro High" – a second category climb of 4.4 kilometers at 6.6% gradient.
A fast descent brings riders back to Bolzano. Here comes the first passage at the finish line – with still 50 kilometers remaining. From Bolzano begins a 19-kilometer circuit to be tackled twice. The beating heart is Col Montoppio – a first category climb with 9.2 kilometers at an average gradient of 6.2%. This is the decisive test. After the second passage over Montoppio come three more tortuous kilometers with constant ups and downs, before the final sprint towards the finish line arrives. The concluding sprint at Cologna di Sopra and the final fast descent to Bolzano determine the winner.
AWARDS AND FESTIVITIES
The race concludes with the official awards ceremony, where six different categories are honored each day: the stage winner, the overall leader (Green Jersey), the mountain leader (Light Blue Jersey), the young rider leader (White Jersey), the points leader (Red Jersey) and the special classification leader (Black Jersey).
The public area in the finish zone is freely accessible and offers ample space to experience the final moments from close range. A hospitality zone with catering services is available for the audience. The event's official radio station accompanies the competition with live commentary and musical entertainment.
