The vineyards and the pretty, small and hidden villages, characterize the upper Eisack Valley.
With the hiking guide, you take the train from Sterzing or Freienfeld station to Mühlbach.
From Mühlbach station, a short hike takes you to a very special place: the BIO farm Santerhof in Mühlbach, a unique oasis of diversity, here, in addition to old fruit varieties, the so-called PIWIS (fungus-resistant grape varieties) are cultivated. After a guided tour through the vineyards, including a visit to the farm and a wine tasting, you return to Mühlbach.
It is an easy and comfortable tour and doable for everyone with some physical condition.
It is not possible to use the paths with a baby carriage and the entire hike is not barrier-free.
Meeting point & start: Wiesen/Sterzing train station at 09.57 a.m.
Freienfeld train station at 10:02 a.m.
Duration: Return Freienfeld at 14:56 and in Sterzing at 15:02
Period: every Tuesday 13th June - 26th September 2023
To take along: Backpack with provisions/lunch pack and enough to drink. Sun & rain protection, good shoes and clothing appropriate for the weather are required. In Mühlbach, after the guided tour, there is still the possibility to visit the town or to stop for a bite to eat.
Number of participants: min. 4 and max. 20 persons
Costs: for ActiveCard holders (10,00 € p.p.), otherwise 15,00 € p.p.
