Tschafon Hut and Völsegg Peak Easy summit hike with magnificent panoramic views

We travel by bus to the "Schönblick" mountain inn (1,192 m) in the municipality of Völs am Schlern. From there, the trail leads steadily uphill through the forest, with views of the mighty Hammerwand, up to the Tschafon mountain hut (1,733 m), where refreshments are available. From the hut, you have the option to hike up to the Völsegg Peak (1,834 m) in about 25 minutes—starting with a gentle incline and followed by a steeper section with several switchbacks—offering a magnificent view of the Bozen valley basin. With the Rosengarten and Latemar massifs in front of us, the descent leads steeply through mountain forest down to Wunleger and finally follows a wider forest path to the parking areas near Weisslahnbad in the rear Tiers Valley (1,179 m), where the bus will be waiting for our return journey.
