Alpbachtal 24-Hour Walk

This scenic 24-Hour Walk takes avid hikers through sceneries of awesome natural beauty and along the glorious and lofty summits and peaks of Rofan Range.

Escorted by a team of experienced mountain guides, the walk kicks-off on July 13, 2024, at 09:00am. The 2024 route takes hikers from the base of former Sonnwendjochbahn Gondola in Kramsach past Zireinersee Lake and atop the summit of 1,940-meter Rosskogel Peak in Rofan Range, the highest elevation of this walk. The route continues to Brandenberg and back to Kramsach. The 24-Hour Walk is a destination race for physically fit mountain athletes willing to test the limits of their resolve, mastering a vertical elevation gain of 2,658 meters (and 3,127 meters of elevation loss). “Enjoy” an uncompromising 50.35K course of rugged and aesthetic beauty among lofty peaks and summits, valleys and canyons and bountiful wildlife and plant life. This will be a fully supported walk with certified hiking guides and rest stops en route. Highlights en-route are sunset and sunrise.
