Richard Kapp and The Gowns set sail with their new album “Ship.”They create chamber pop with a British flair: melodic and catchy, endearing yet slightly quirky. It’s music to savor, but with a hidden depth. Between everyday observations and big questions, irony meets seriousness and classic songwriting meets jazz. From the pleasure of finding a bed while traveling around the world to misunderstandings about the nature of love. Influenced by pop, folk, chanson, jazz, and funk, Kapp’s compositions stand out for their
stylistic openness and surprising twists.
