Book presentation with Sabina Mair
The author will focus in particular on Claudia de’ Medici and the Capuchin Monastery in Schlanders:
At a time when much of Europe was in flames, Tyrol remained largely unscathed—thanks in no small part to Claudia de’ Medici. She worked for peace, had fortresses built, and introduced fish farming to improve everyday life for the people of Tyrol. We also owe the Capuchin Monastery to her and to the people of Schlanders.
In 2026, Claudia de’ Medici’s 400th wedding anniversary will be commemorated, highlighting once again the significance of her legacy and her impact in Tyrol.
