Founded in 1801, the Auer Town Band is one of the oldest bands in South Tyrol. Archival sources document a long musical tradition in the village. A decisive period of growth began in 1922 under the musical direction of Sepp Thaler, who left a lasting mark on the band.

In the post-war years, the Auer Town Band continued to develop through competitions, concert tours, world premieres, and early sound recordings. To this day, the band stands for the promotion of brass band music as well as for community spirit and cohesion within the village.

The band will celebrate its 225th anniversary with a three-day jubilee festival in the village center of Auer from 15 to 17 May 2026.
