The Unterinn music band was founded in 1804 and is therefore one of the oldest bands in South Tyrol. It is one of six music bands on the Ritten plateau above the provincial capital of Bolzano, alongside the bands from Wangen, Oberinn, Lengmoos, Lengstein and Oberbozen.
The association currently has 44 active musicians with an average age of 37 years. The group is complemented by 5 marketenders and 2 flag bearers. Organizational leadership is in the hands of Alex Platter, who has held the position of chairman since January 2025.
With around 100 service days per year, the band looks back on a busy calendar: a large part of this is devoted to musical rehearsals, while concerts, church festivals and social occasions round off the association’s year. Annual highlights include the spring concert and the brass music festival “Brass Pyramide”, now known beyond regional borders, held at the festival grounds in Unterinn.
