The third stage of the Giro delle Dolomiti begins immediately with the competitive section. The start of the timed course is located right at the beginning in Bolzano/Rencio, where the road winds its way up through a series of switchbacks — first through the vineyards of St. Magdalena, then through mixed forest to the sunny Ritten plateau. The opposite side of the valley, where the villages of the Castelrotto plateau are lined up, is always in view. From Bolzano’s popular local mountain, there are magnificent views of the Seiser Alm, the Sciliar, and the Sassolungo. This year, the stage ends directly in Collalbo, where refreshments are available at the “Ritten Arena.” From here, cyclists can either return to Bolzano on their own or extend the trip as they wish along the side roads.
