The Viennese quartet Schneeberger & Bakanic brings its refreshing "Alpin Swing" to Bolzano – a distinctive blend of Gypsy swing, Balkan jazz and new folk music that captivates audiences from the very first bar. At the heart of the project is the creative partnership between two virtuosos: Diknu Schneeberger, one of the most prominent Gypsy jazz guitarists of his generation, and Christian Bakanic, a stylistically versatile accordionist of rare talent. Together they conjure up distinct sound worlds in the tension between swinging Gypsy jazz, fiery Balkan groove, lyrical melodies and chamber music forms – brought to life through improvisational spontaneity.
Their debut album "Avanti, avanti" stands as a testament to this purposeful collaboration, completed by Martin Heinzle on double bass and Julian Wohlmuth on rhythm guitar. The interplay between catchy melody and virtuosity carries the audience through the evening by turns exhilarating and tender. From the opening bars it is clear: this quartet knows how to enchant both heart and ear like few others. The ensemble will also perform at Castello di Castelbello on 1 July.
