Dear Ladies and Gentlemen, dear music friends,

On Monday, February 9, a concert featuring regional artists will take place:
Joining the renowned piano duo Kiveli & Danae Dörken are two percussionists from the region: Nicola Schelfi from Trentino and Hannes Vonmetz from Ritten.

With Danae and Kiveli Dörken’s success as a piano duo, their musical unity, pianistic blending, and physical interconnection at the instrument, it is unmistakable that they are destined to perform as a duo. Both sisters have independently pursued successful careers for years as soloists and chamber musicians with other prominent instrumentalists.

Nicola Schelfi completed his studies with top marks and distinction and is currently perfecting his skills under the guidance of Ernst-Willhelm Hilgers (Principal Timpani, Bavarian State Orchestra Munich). Since November 2018, Schelfi has been the timpanist for the Philharmonia of the International Piano Festival of Brescia and Bergamo, and since summer 2019, he has also been a member of the orchestra of the Tiroler Festspiele Erl. Since January 2025, he has regularly worked as a timpanist and percussionist with the Milan Symphony Orchestra.

Hannes Vonmetz has been studying since 2023 in the soloist class of Prof. Simone Rubino at the University of the Arts Berlin. In 2024 he made his debut at the Berlin Philharmonie, where in 2025 he presented his debut project, “The Latin America Project”, dedicated to the musical traditions of Latin America and featuring several world premieres. He is a scholarship holder of the German National Academic Foundation, Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now Berlin, and is supported by the Friends of Young Musicians Berlin e. V.

The program will also feature a performance of a newly arranged work by Eduard Demetz. Eduard Demetz, an award-winning composer and professor of composition at the Conservatory of Bolzano, has reconceived his work “Memory is an Animal”, making a “world premiere” possible for this concert.

The program also includes Johannes Brahms’ Hungarian Dances, Witold Lutosławski’s Paganini Variations, and Béla Bartók’s Sonata for Two Pianos and Percussion.
