For 33 years, the New York-based Slackers, celebrated by many critics, have been touring the world with their mix of ska, reggae, and soul.

Since 1991, Slackers have released fifteen albums and countless singles, while their thousands of live performances have thrilled fans with energetic, ecstatic sets. Slackers have been called 'the sound of New York' by The New York Times. Brooklyn Vegan described them as 'a clear mix of ska, reggae, and soul spiced up by Vic Ruggiero's rough New York accent.'

In April 2022, Slackers released their new album 'Don’t Let The Sunlight Fool Ya' (Pirates Press), which quickly reached the top of the US Billboard charts – the first time a Slackers album had charted! Ironically, after 30 years as a band, they qualified as a Billboard 'new artist'. The Washington Post noted that Slackers are 'still at the top of their game'. The chart success of 'Don’t Let The Sunlight Fool Ya' crowned Slackers' two-year comeback.

When Covid stopped live shows in 2020, Slackers turned to livestreams, hosting five full band concerts that were broadcast internationally to thousands of fans. After the streams, they stayed in the studio recording the songs that became 'Don’t Let The Sunlight Fool Ya'. Returning to touring from the second half of 2021 through the end of 2022, they were able to make up all the shows that had been postponed in 2020. This included a triumphant European tour in October 2022, where they played nine sold-out shows, including the Underworld in London.

Slackers capped off this comeback with a series of energetic tours in 2022/2023. They played everything from clubs to festivals across the USA, Canada, Europe, and Brazil.
