Combining cinema and live music. That is the grandiose concept behind Symphonic Cinema. Filmmaker Lucas van Woerkum, himself a horn player, tells the story of Gustav Mahler, his wife Alma and their young daughter Maria, each from their perspective. Life, death and the aftermath: The film deals with the great themes of humanity. The music for the film, which was shot on Lake Braies, will be performed in this very setting to live music by the Orchestra Filarmonica Marchigiana on the lake. The story of Gustav Mahler, who experienced important milestones in his world career in the Puster Valley, the sounds of the orchestra, the mountains reflected in the water - this is great cinema.
