When the stars of international ski racing compete against each other at the Rettenbach Glacier for the first World Cup of the year, there are not just thrilling competitions. It also marks the kick-off for the winter season in Sölden.
Every year, Sölden comes alive when the FIS racing circuit opens the season high above the Ötztal Valley. This is fitting, as the autumn race start is special due to the excellent conditions in the glacier ski resort at over 3,200 metres above sea level. The women traditionally open the giant slalom in Sölden's prime location on Saturday. On Sunday, the men join the action. Thrilling races and world-class times attract most fans. Naturally, the appealing supporting programme and special atmosphere are also among the highlights of the ski event. Ticket pre-sales start already in the summer.
