The chestnut trail in spring

The chestnut trail also has a special charm in spring, when the gnarled chestnut trees begin to sprout their delicate green colour. The hiking guide will show you a few cosy spots and draw your attention to the many facets of the natural spectacle that is spring. Watch the birds build their nests again and hear how the chestnut tree has evolved over the years. She will also tell you what it was used for in the past and what role it plays in today's gourmet cuisine.

Start: 10.00 am at the Feldthurns information office, easy hike on the chestnut trail from Feldthurns via Verdings to Pardell. Total walking time 3.5 hrs, height difference 360 m, total distance 8.3 km, possibility of stop: Gasthof Huber in Pardell, return: approx. 4.00 pm.

Participation in the hike is free of charge for guests staying at member establishments of the Klausen, Barbian, Feldthurns and Villanders Tourism Cooperative.
For non-members, the price is €10, unless otherwise stated.
