Amidst the vineyards and monastery walls

From Brixen, the route climbs gently through the vineyards up to Neustift Abbey. Step by step, sweeping views of the town and the vineyards in their autumnal colours unfold. This historic abbey has shaped the region’s cultural landscape and winemaking tradition for centuries. During a guided tour through the vineyards, we discover the work in the vineyard and the monastery’s long winemaking tradition. This is followed by a tasting of selected wines (included), offering an authentic taste of the soils and terroir around Neustift. The route then continues to the Burgerhof Meßner farmhouse inn. Kathrin and Johannes serve authentic South Tyrolean cuisine: from the “Burgerjause” featuring organic produce from their own farm to hot dishes (food and drink not included). All this is accompanied by a splendid view of the surrounding vineyards and the town of Brixen.
